        I always had a love for fitness and exercise.  Whether it is soccer, judo, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, and Zumba, staying fit and motivating others to get healthy has always been at the forefront of my life plan.  I am a certified Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer with AFAA. I am also a licensed Zumba Instructor, and I have other certifications such as BodyPump, RPM, LES MLLS SPRINT, Mat Pilates, Ballet Barre, STRONG by Zumba, TRX, Olympic Weighlifting, and Cycling.

        Becoming a Fitness Instructor is something that I wanted to do for a while; however, I started chasing this goal in mid-2017.  Why do you ask?  First, is my lifelong love and struggle with personal fitness.  It hasn’t been easy.  At one point in my life, after my first child, my weight was as high as 270 lbs. (I am 5’8” tall).

         I tried everything under the sun and the end state was simply: the proper nutrition and daily exercise way-of-life was the answer.  You can change what you eat, drink, take diet pills, and buy expensive weight loss plans, none of it worked for me until I decided to change me.  Changing what I eat or the activity I did was not the answer.

        Second, I have a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design/Business and my favorite thing is to design activewear.  It is a perfect match that satisfies my creative need for designs and the active lifestyle change I am now embarked on.  Third, was possibly my greatest motivation of all, which was my need to become healthy for myself first and then my husband and my kids, especially for my husband!  lol, *he put that in here*!  Being an example to my kids do matter.

      

         Overall, where and how you start, doesn’t matter, what matters is that you took your first step to becoming a better version of yourself.  I pledge to all of you, as a fitness professional, to be there for you and help you achieve your fitness and lifestyle goals.  Having fun at the same time is a must! Yes, have fun, because “exercise is not - should not be – a chore”.   Instead, it should be that time of the day you cannot wait to have for yourself and forget about everything else!  Your time to get healthy, physically and mentally!

         I have transformed myself.   I am still working on myself every single day, and there is nothing better than doing this with a group of people that motivates you!  Before I became a Fitness Instructor, I used to think that I should have the perfect body and ideal weight.  I was wrong!  Being healthy and looking good can be achieved at your natural healthy weight not society's expectation of your size and shape.  I am glad I did not wait any longer!

          I have learned one great secret in life and that is: you must find a need to experience love and passion for what you do in life, who you are, and whom you want to become!  Guess what?! I always had that, but I was always “afraid” or “shy” perhaps… I transformed myself, starting with my MINDSET.  When you do that, everything else comes along with it! It was not easy, however, it’s not impossible. 

         I want you to feel the positive energy in every single class I teach and in every session!  I am here to support you, and you are here to support me!!!  We are a team and we work -workout- together!!
